About
AARP is the nation’s largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to empowering people 50-plus to choose how they live as they age. With a nationwide presence and nearly 38 million members, AARP strengthens communities and advocates for what matters most to families: health security, financial stability and personal fulfillment. AARP also produces the nation's largest circulation publications: AARP The Magazine and AARP Bulletin. By providing ongoing, accessible, and up-to-date information and resources for the community, AARP looks to find new ways to provide continued care and support for the AAPI community. AARP Community Advocacy and Programs
Caregiving
AARP is here to help Americans keep their families safe and protected. As the number of people who provide care and those who need care increase, AARP offers resources on caregiving, including culturally relevant information for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. AARP developed a caregiving guide, called “Prepare to Care”, that lays out initial steps to help the community get started. This includes guidance on how caregivers can make a family caregiving plan to bring peace of mind in case rapid response is needed to care for a loved one. Learn more at aarp.org/caregiving.
Voter Engagement
AARP acknowledges that 50-plus Americans are the most powerful voting bloc in this country and ensures their voices are included on critical issues like Social Security and Medicare. AARP is working to protect 50-plus voters, inform voters on priority issue areas, and help people to vote safely this presidential election. AARP developed customized state guides on voting options available at aarp.org/Election2020. In a continued effort to partner with trusted ethnic media, AARP shares what’s at stake for Asian American and Pacific Islanders this election. Encourage your family and friends to vote safely this year and make your voices heard. Learn more about how to protect 50+ voters at chinese.aarp.org/election2020.
