Did you know that Chinese Americans are less likely to receive morphine and other pain medications when they are needed? That Chinese Americans are five times more likely than Caucasians to die with feeding tubes attached to them? That Chinese Americans are less likely to be removed from life support even when death is inevitable? That less than 1% of Chinese Americans use hospice services - partly because many Chinese are unaware of the very real benefits of hospice, and partly because there are few Chinese-speaking staff. We need to change this … Sandy went on to describe what the CACCC is doing to bring that about.
